Hello Families!
I am Miss Robin and I happily run RND. I have been providing care for families since my oldest was 8 months old. I have 3 children and a wonderful bonus son. My children have grown up with daycare surrounding them their entire lives. So I also have some wonderful babysitters if ever a family needs one. 😁
I have my Developmental Services Worker diploma and have spent many years learning about children, development, communication and the many different ways children experience the world.
At RND, I believe children need more than just a safe place to spend their day. They need to feel safe, heard, respected and understood. I believe in learning through play, following children’s interests and giving them opportunities to explore, discover and build confidence in their own abilities.
Emotional regulation is also a big part of our days. I don’t believe children are simply being “difficult” when they are having a hard time. Sometimes their feelings are bigger than their ability to communicate or manage them. My role is to help them understand what is happening inside them, learn the tools they need and know that their feelings are welcome here, even when the behaviour that comes with those feelings needs a boundary.
After so many years of caring for children, I have learned that every child is wonderfully different. There isn’t one perfect way to parent, learn, play or regulate. I love getting to know each child for who they are and creating an environment where they can grow at their own pace.
Most importantly, I want families to feel that when they leave their little ones with me, they are leaving them with someone who genuinely cares about them. ❤️
